Description:

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

How Hydraulic Trailer Brakes Work
Hydraulic Surge Brakes - The most common type in the U.S., these brakes are self-contained and activate when the tow vehicle slows down, causing a hydraulic surge actuator (coupler) to engage the trailer brakes.
No Electrical Connection Needed - Unlike electric brakes, surge brakes operate purely through hydraulic pressure.
Automatic Braking Force - The harder the tow vehicle brakes, the more pressure is applied to the trailer brakes.

Advantages of Hydraulic Brakes
No Brake Controller Needed - Unlike electric brakes, Hydraulic brakes don't require an electronic brake controller in the tow vehicle.

Smooth, Proportional Braking - Braking force matches the tow vehicle's deceleration.

Good for Wet Conditions - Hydraulic systems are less prone to corrosion than electric brakes (important for boat trailers).
